Spring Wellness Guide

Happy almost Spring! With the seasons changing, losing an hour of sleep, and all the sickness happening everywhere I wanted to share a few things that we have been doing to keep ourselves healthy and just promote overall wellness. Our health is something that we should never be afraid to invest in. If we don’t feel well it hinders so many things and quite frankly makes everything miserable.

So it’s no secret we can help reduce our chances of getting sick by simply washing our hands with soap before we eat, cough, sneeze, touch something that has been touched by multiple people etc. Also, using warm water and washing for at least 25 seconds. I know it may feel like a long time, but it will be worth it in the long run. When I pick up the kids from school or soccer practice we this thieves waterless hand sanitizer. Avoid touching your face. Also, taking vitamins helps. We take a multivitamin and vitamin C daily. You can also boost your immune system by eating fruits and green vegetables. We made some carrot, spinach, apple, and ginger juice the other morning and it tastes so good and knowing that it is full of nutrients makes me feel good. All the kids drink a small glass (even though I have some push back from Jonathan he manages to get it in his body). Staying hydrated, drink lots of water. Exercising is another essential key to your overall wellness. So walking the kids to school with the warmer weather coming or last night at Jonathan’s soccer practice I decided to jog a few laps around the park and then watch his practice. Making the most of my time when running around with the kids is how I am able to get a workout in. I just feel my best when I am active so I try to make that a priority.

Lastly, we have been utilizing essential oils for many things such as supporting sleep, diffusing thieves and frankincense. It smells so good and my go to blend stress away and orange is so good! Essential oils are great for emotional support too. Making roller blends that have 10 drops frankincense, 5 drops thieves, and 5 drops lemon. Oregano can be added also to this roller if you have it on hand and topping it off with a fractunated carrier oil. We roll this on our spines and feet each morning and before bed. Making sure our bodies get the adequate hours of sleep will help to ensure wellness. If the kids feel run down I will not hesitate to keep them home from school. Also, adjusting their bedtimes if they had a long day or just not feeling well. I spray the kids bed with a lavender spray before bed and it is so dreamy. Basically, we need good rest to keep our energy going and be prepared for whatever the day may bring.

I love switching gears by turning on the diffuser with some lavender and peace and calming and reading before bed. I am currently reading Little Fires Everywhere and am enjoying it.
