Easter Baskets

Hi friends! I am happy to report that the kiddo’s Easter baskets are all put together. I gathered goodies throughout the month. Whenever I would pop into our local grocery store without any kids with me I would usually grab an Easter candy or item. The kids will come running to me as soon as I walk in the door so I have a small window of stashing the goodies without them questioning me what’s in the bag!

Their baskets are filled with books, this playdough and I added some Easter cookie cutters I had already to their mini rolling pins, paint sticks, pajamas, and candy! I like to stick things in there that they need and I have to get anyway, like pajamas. This time of year it’s starting to warm up and we are ready for lighter pajamas.

Easter Week

The boys are back to school and they couldn’t be happier about it. Overall we had a great break and are ready to get back into the swing of things. This week will be busy for us. Jonathan and Jordan are starting outdoor soccer again (which they haven’t played in over a year) and Jonathan has his first practice this week. It’s Jonathan’s Birthday on Friday and Easter on Sunday. I have a few more things to grab for his Birthday party and Easter and we should be all set!

We plan on decorating Easter eggs, having bunny-shaped pancakes, and I made the kiddos bunny-shaped mac-n-cheese the other day! So we are ready for all of the festivities.

Over this past weekend, we had such beautiful weather on Saturday, both our front and back doors were open and it was so nice to get fresh air in the house. I am looking forward to many more of these types of days!

Sending lots of love, nice weather, and good health to you all! XO

Easter Crafts and Nature Walks

The boys have been on Spring Break for the past two weeks and I wish I could report that we were able to get outside a lot, but it has been so cold in our region. We even woke up to snow a few mornings. Needless to say, we have been stuck inside for a good portion of their break. However, we did have just a few nice days that we did go to several parks and were able to walk around our neighborhood.

With Easter just a week or so away we decided that we needed to get some Easter crafting happening. Jordan made the cutest bunny all by himself (his creativity amazes me sometimes). Another craft we did was just using construction paper I cut out an egg shape on just white paper and let the kids paint using pastel colors. I love to see what designs they come up with. Once they were finished and the paint dried, we glued them on a different color piece of construction paper and then I laminated them.

Another fun activity that gets you out of the house is we took a nature walk around the block (Jonathan rollerbladed) and I had the kids find small egg-shaped rocks. Once we were home I washed the rocks, let them dry, and the kids painted the rocks like Easter eggs. They love doing things like this and it is a nice way to get some fresh air and let their creative side come out.

I hope you are having a wonderful Spring Break! XO

Easter Basket Inspiration

Hello friends! With Easter landing so early this year on the calendar I am determined to get the kiddo’s Easter baskets complete early this year. Jonathan’s birthday and Easter fall on the same weekend this year so I need to be extra prepared this year.

Easter is one of our favorite holidays to celebrate. The kids love to dye Easter eggs and leave them out for the Easter Bunny. I love to get the kids each a book, a craft, and something that they will need for Spring (soccer ball, water bottles, etc.) and we can’t forget about the candy! I will also include some playdough that I will make ( I use this recipe and love it) and put it in a fun jar adding a few drops of essential oils and a few Easter cookie cutters so they can have an Easter-inspired sensory kit.

Another fun idea is to fill a tumbler or water bottle with their favorite treats. I found some edible grass at our local grocery store that was so cute and unique, I know the kids will love it!

Below are ideas for Jordan and Jasmine (their ages are 3 and 6 years old). Jonathan’s will look different since he is older, but he still looks forward to seeing what the “Easter bunny” will bring!

Rainbow Inspiration

Hello, March! I am longing for Spring and warm weather. I have noticed that the birds are out and chirping more and it is getting darker much later. All signs of Spring which I am so happy about. The boys have two more weeks of school and then they will be on Spring Break. We are ready to just be outside more (hoping the weather gets warmer, it has been pretty cold here lately).

With Spring approaching the boys will be starting outdoor soccer soon which they are so excited for. Jonathan’s Birthday is coming up in April and Easter is right after his Birthday this year. I will be sharing Easter basket inspirations soon since it will be here before we know it.

For now, we are enjoying the small things still. Crafting together on the weekends when the boys are home, starting to puzzle again (we took a break since we did several during quarantine), and having movie nights. With the seasons changing we are starting to get just a little bit busier. We will appreciate being able to do things (such as soccer starting) and also appreciating slowing down, it’s all such a balancing act!

What are you looking forward to this Spring? I hope you have a wonderful week! XO
